Becoming a Partner in Mission at Mount Tabor

The Apostle Paul states in Philippians 1:3-7, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Paul spread the good news (gospel) of Jesus Christ to many communities, establishing a network of believers through the early Church. He lifted up the importance of Christian community in furthering God’s realm here on earth. Together, we can become partners in sharing God’s good news as we live into God’s will being done. Partnering with God is a Biblical vision and lifts up a sense of communal responsibility.

Our Outreach Team invites you to be a partner through:

  • Additionally, we are connected to Grace UCC, another congregation which our pastor has served a number of years, and share in ministry through Habitat for Humanity and Our Church’s Wider Mission.  We together have also refurbished a room at Gateway 180-Homelessness Reversed and have begun seeking other joint efforts for our two congregations.
  • In the fall annually, we host a trivia night to raise funds (& fun!) for scholarships to send children and youth to Camp MoVal, one of our Outdoor Ministry opportunities in the Missouri Mid-South Conference of the UCC. We also support Camp Shannondale, which reaches out to some of the poorest in the Ozarks through local ministries there as well as offering a summer camping and canoeing program.
  • Recently we began serving Nottingham Community Access and Job Training High School, providing funds to support their food pantry for students' families, as well as winter coats, hats and gloves.
  • Other organizations we have supported this past year include:  St. Jude's Hospital, Emmaus Homes, Heifer Project International, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry, One Great Hour of Sharing, Neighbors In Need, Tools & Blanket program, and Every Child's Hope.
