The purpose of Mount Tabor United Church of Christ …
is to worship God; to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and celebrate the Sacraments; to
teach and promote the Christian way of life and promote the Kingdom of God both at
home and abroad, stressing the need for vital programs of Evangelism and Christian
Education.
Mount Tabor acknowledges as its sole Head, Jesus Christ, the Son of God and savior of
people. We embrace as sisters and brothers in Christ all who share in this confession.
We look to the Word of God in the Scriptures and to the power and the presence f the
Holy Spirit, to prosper the creative and redemptive work of the Church in the world.
Mount Tabor claims as its own the faith of the historic Church expressed in the ancient
creeds and reclaimed in the basic insights of the Protestant Reformers. We affirm the
responsibility of the Church in each generation to make this faith our own. In accordance
with the teachings of our Lord and the practices prevailing among evangelical Christians,
Mount Tabor recognizes two Sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper or Holy
Communion.
